Getting started
Install the bot
Click "Add to Slack" and authorize DealDesk Bot for your workspace.
Invite to a channel
Use /invite @DealDeskBot or mention the bot in any channel.
Upload a document
Upload a PDF, DOCX, or image and mention @DealDeskBot in the message.
Review the analysis
The bot replies in a thread with the deal analysis and recommendation.

Configuration
Workspace admins can customize settings through the App Home:
- Click on DealDesk Bot in the Slack sidebar
- Go to the Home tab
- Switch between Approval Rules and Pricing Model tabs
- Click Edit to modify settings
Approval rules

Pricing model
Configure the margin calculator parameters:
- Processing costs: cost per 1K impressions, cost per scored asset
- Hourly rates: regional rates for NA, EMEA/APAC, LATAM
- Service hours: account service hours, onboarding hours
- Margin targets: software margin (80%), service margin (60%)
- Factors: platform factor, lookback ratio for new clients
Understanding the response
Decision types
- APPROVED — Deal passes all rules
- ESCALATE — Requires review due to rule violations
- REJECTED — Critical issues prevent approval
Deal summary
Extracted information including customer name, deal type, contract value, discount, term length, payment terms, and product details.
Pricing analysis
- List price calculated from your margin model
- Effective discount from list price
- Expected gross margin
- Revenue trend (if historical data available)
Rules evaluated
Each rule shows pass/fail with explanation: discount compliance, contract length, payment terms, account health, and agency-specific rules.
Troubleshooting
Bot doesn't respond
- Ensure the bot is invited to the channel
- Verify you mentioned
@DealDeskBot - Check that a supported file type was uploaded
Extraction errors
- Ensure the document is readable (not a poor quality scan)
- Try PDF instead of image for better accuracy
- Verify the document is a standard order form format
Incorrect pricing
- Check pricing parameters in App Home configuration
- Verify the document includes necessary fields
- Review extracted values in the deal summary
